NARC King of the West Sprints
JUSTIN SANDERS DOMINATES - CAPTURES 4TH NARC KING OF THE WEST WIN OF THE YEAR
TULARE, CA (5/17/26) The NARC King of the West Sprint Car Series made their 3rd appearance of the year at Thunderbowl Raceway with 22 cars signed in for the 7th race of the 2026 season.
Series points leader, Justin Sanders, set Quick Time in ARP Qualifying with a lap of 13.849 seconds. It was Sanders’ series-leading 3rd Quick Time of the year.
Chance Grasty jumped out and grabbed the win in Kaeding Performance Heat Race #1, his 2nd Heat Race win of the year. Kaleb Montgomery would take advantage of the front row being penalized on the original start of BMRS Heat Race #2, propelling him to an outside front row starting spot. Montgomery went on to win the Heat Race, his 1st Heat Race win of the year and locking himself into the pole position of the HD Titanium Dash. Nick Parker utilized his outside front row starting position in Hill’s Premium Meats Heat Race #3 to shoot to the lead and win. It was Parker’s 1st heat race win of the year.
The three Heat Race winners and fastest transfer cars out of each Heat Race locked into the 6-lap HD Titanium Dash. Kaleb Montgomery stayed hot and led all 6 laps of the HD Titanium Dash, capturing his 1st Dash win of the 2026 season, in his 3rd Dash start.
Kaleb Montgomery led the field into turn 1 at the start of the 30 Lap Hoosier Racing Tire A-Main event. Montgomery, Max Mittry, and Justin Sanders were three wide for the lead off the exit of turn 2, with Sanders prevailing and leading the 1st lap. A flat LR for Mittry on lap 2 would bring out a yellow flag. Shane Golobic utilized a lap 4 restart to pick up a few spots, boosting him into the top 3. Sanders led all 30 laps to pick up the $5,000 win and his series leading 4th win of 2026.
Shane Golobic went 10th to 2nd, earning FK Rod Ends Hard Charger award honors.
The NARC King of the West Sprint cars return to action on Friday May 29th at Watsonville Speedway in Watsonville, CA.
