NARC King of the West Sprints
SANDERS SCORES THE WIN AT TULARE THUNDERBOWL RACEWAY
TULARE, CA (4/18/26) The NARC King of the West Sprint Car Series made its second visit of 2026 to Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway with 25 cars pulling through the pit gate.
Justin Sanders kicked off the night with a lap of 13.118 seconds to set Quick Time in ARP Qualifying behind the wheel of the Mittry Construction 2X. It was Sanders' first quick time of the year with NARC King of the West.
Tim Kaeding picked up his series-leading 3rd Heat Race win of the year in Kaeding Performance Heat Race #1. Defending NARC King of the West Champion, DJ Netto, captured his first Heat Race win of the season in BMRS Heat Race #2. Max Mittry also picked up his first Heat Race win of the season in Hills Premium Meats Heat Race #3.
The three Heat Race winners and fastest transfer cars out of each Heat Race locked into the 6-lap HD Titanium Dash. Justin Sanders led all 6 laps of the HD Titanium Dash on the way to his first Dash win of the season, in his series-best 3rd Dash appearance of the year.
Sanders would start from the pole of the 30-lap Hoosier Race Tire A-Main. He jumped out to the early lead and never looked back, leading all 30 laps on the way to his first NARC King of the West win in 2026 and a $5,000 payday. With Sanders dominating, the race for the final two podium spots stayed hot with Mittry, Dominic Scelzi and Chance Grasty throwing slide jobs and changing positions throughout the 30-lap affair. Scelzi would cross the finish line in 2nd and Grasty would pick up a career-best NARC King of the West finish in 3rd.
Dylan Bloomfield advanced from 20th to 14th, earning him FK Rod Ends Hard Charger award honors.
The NARC King of the West Sprint cars return to action on Friday, May 1st at Watsonville Speedway and on Saturday, May 2nd at Santa Maria Speedway for $10,000 to win. NARC King of the West's next appearance at Thunderbowl Raceway is on May 16th.
