BRAD SWEET LEADS ALL 30 LAPS AT TULARE THUNDERBOWL RACEWAY - NARC KING OF THE WEST

(3/28/2026)

Saturday night marked the first of four scheduled appearances for NARC King of the West at Thunderbowl Raceway. Fans were treated to an impressive turnout, with 29 cars signing in, the largest field for a NARC King of the West event at Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway since 2018.

Brad Sweet kicked off the night by setting Quick Time in ARP Qualifying with a lap of 13.941 seconds in the Works Ltd. W car. This is Sweet’s second Quick Time of the season!

Next up were three heat races full of speed! The Kaeding Performance Heat Race was won by Justin Sanders! Sanders lined up on the front row with his teammate Max Mittry. He took the lead on the initial start and led the field for all 8 laps to claim Kaeding Performance Heat Race 1.

The driver of the #0 car, Tim Kaeding, got a great start as the green flag dropped and maintained the top position for 8 laps, leading him to the win in BMRS Heat Race 2.

Caeden Steele captured the third and final heat race presented by Hills Premium Meats. Caeden pulled into the infield to talk about this heat race win with flames coming from his glowing brake rotor.

Once the heat races were concluded the three heat race winners and three fastest transfer cars hit the track for the 6-lap HD Titanium dash! Grass Valley’s Brad Sweet would lead all 6 laps and lock in the pole position for the feature.

An eleven-car B Feature hit the track next. It was DJ Netto, Landon Brooks, Austin Wood, Steven Kent, Kaleb Montgomery, and Ryan Bernal transferring out of the B Feature and tagging the rear of the A Feature.

An eventful 30 lap feature was the final event of the night. Sweet took the lead immediately going into turn one. Bud Kaeding cartwheeled out of turn four with Netto getting tangled in the crash. Mariah Ede got turned around in the same corner and Max Mittry got a flat left front tire at the other end of the track. All drivers were able to get the needed repairs finished and restart as the green flag came back out. Sanders, who finished second in the feature, traded positions with T. Kaeding a handful of times, ultimately leaving Kaeding to finish in third. Landon Brooks advanced out of the B-Feature and passed the most cars, earning him the nights Kimo’s Tropical Car Wash Hard Charger award. In the end, it was “The Big Cat” Brad Sweet leading all 30 laps of the A-Feature, capturing his second consecutive NARC King of the West victory.

Next race April 10-11 Mini Gold at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, CA.
